Lisa Erokhin Foundation

BACKGROUND

Lisa Erokhin was born on November 15, 2011,
in the city of Donetsk, in Eastern Ukraine.

From the very first years of her short life, she was confronted with the horrors of war. In April 2014, her hometown was seized by Russian occupiers, and the Erokhin family lost their home. They were forced to evacuate and start over in a new town.

In 2016, Lisa fell seriously ill and was admitted to the pediatric oncohematology department of
the National Children’s Hospital “Ohmatdyt” in Kyiv.
A few years later, this very hospital would become tragically known across the world, following a Russian missile attack on July 8, 2024, that destroyed one of its main buildings.

Lisa did not live to see that tragic day.
She fought bravely against a severe diagnosis — blood cancer — and in 2017, she even managed to go into remission. But soon after, Lisa was hospitalized again, and this time she was diagnosed with a new type of cancer: a brain tumor.

Despite all the doctors’ efforts,
Lisa passed away on January 16, 2018.
She was just 6 years old…

In memory of Lisa — a symbol of courage, resilience, and light — and in deep respect for her devoted parents, Olena and Andriy Erokhin, this foundation was established to support children with severe and orphan (rare) diseases and the families who care for them.

The foundation’s journey began in 2017, when the first fundraising campaigns were launched to support Lisa’s treatment. In 2018, the organization was officially registered in Kyiv
